Description
This crisp-leaved lettuce thrives in summer, tolerating heat without bolting. You can harvest outer leaves as needed or pick the whole lettuce. Sow seeds in spring or summer, thinly on the soil surface, and cover lightly with seed-raising mix.
Keep them warm, sheltered from heat, and grow for 3-4 weeks before transplanting. Plant in a sunny, sheltered spot, with some afternoon shade during hot days. Protect from slugs and snails, keep moisture even, and feed weekly with worm tea or fertilizer to avoid tough, bitter leaves.
