Honouring centuries-old candlemaking with natural, lasting light.
Established in 1914, DAIYO candles have hundreds of years of history. Their authentic Japanese candles are crafted from 100% natural plant wax using traditional techniques of candle making through their skilled artisans’ work. Using natural materials is of the utmost importance and serves as the hallmark of the genuine Japanese candles that they take pride in creating. Daiyo's principles of making candles from the blessings of nature have remained unchanged and serve to enlighten and reconnect us to nature.

candle wick bundles. Each candle starts by wrapping layers of hollow Washi paper with rush weed and silk fibres to create the wick, cotton fibers are then used to hold the weed in place. This technique allows the candle to burn smoothly without excess wax dripping.
