Description
These candles are individually and meticulously handcrafted by Japanese artisans with 100% natural and local sumac wax; derived from haze fruits.
The candles are characterised by their flickering incandescent light, burning stably with a larger flame and less soot or odour when extinguished.
The sumac wax is a scarce material, and only 10 craftsmen are left in the world who produce this traditional type of candle. Each wick is hand-rolled using washi paper, then wrapped with rush weeds and silk fibers to hold it in place before the wax is hand-poured to form the shape.
