Like all Ernest Wright scissors and shears, the 8.25″ Dressmaker shears start as two solid bars of carbon steel. The traditional hot forging process transforms a bar into a blank before the master putters begin their work.
The die for the 8.25″ is an old Sheffield pattern that has been unearthed and revitalised. The design of side bent shears allows the shanks to project upwards and away from the blades, ensuring smooth and efficient cutting of fabric along a flat tabletop.
