Description
Faux Flora maps the arc of a life through scent. First exhibited at the National Nordic Museum, this collection by Fischersund traces the plant life cycle — germination, growth, flowering, seed formation, dispersal — superimposed onto the human journey from birth to death. The result is five fragrances that are otherworldly yet deeply familiar.
The Faux Flora Discovery Set brings together all five scents in 8ml vials, each hand-crafted and hand-poured in Iceland. Accompanied by limited edition art cards featuring original works by Co-Founder and Creative Director Ingibjörg Birgisdottir, and scented poems that carry you through each stage.
No. 1 — Germination
The beginning. Clean, mineral, and quietly alive.

Fischersund is a family-run artistic brand based in Iceland, blending scent, art, and nature into a unique sensory experience. Founded by siblings Jónsi – of Sigur Rós – Lilja, Ingibjörg, Sigurrós and run with their partners Sindri and Kjartan, the fragrance brand operates from a historic black house at Fischersund 3, formerly Jónsi's music studio. The creative hub now houses a perfumery where vegan fragrances are handcrafted using Icelandic herbs and oils sustainably harvested from the wild. The brand’s ‘nose’, Jónsi, followed his passion for perfumery to teach himself the craft, blending his love for music with inspirations from art and nature. Fischersund’s flagship store in Reykjavik brings to life its aesthetic manifesto, harmonising scent, sound, and visuals into an immersive experience.
