Description
This beautiful heirloom kale is not only full of goodness but also packed with nutrients. You can sow it directly in the garden or start in trays and transplant after 4-6 weeks. It thrives in moist, well-drained soil (avoid clay or soggy spots) and does well with some shade.
Plant it in spring or late summer to avoid the hottest part of the year. It will provide fresh greens throughout the winter and may even sprout again the following year. Be sure to rotate planting locations each year to give the soil a break. Harvest the outer leaves and snip off any flowers to prevent it from going to seed.
