Jasmine Clark grew up in Kare Kare on Auckland's rugged West Coast, where her love for making things began. While completing her Bachelor of 3D Design from Unitec, she enrolled in a flax weaving night class. After extensive experimentation across methods and mediums, she found her niche in basketry, which is ever-evolving through her ongoing incorporation of materials including bull kelp, flax, rattan and wire. Her hand-crafted works explore form and shadow, always reflecting her reverence for the natural world and an appreciation for traditional craftsmanship. Jasmine’s home studio and exhibition space, Little Hut Gallery is at the foot of the mountains in Arrowtown, on Aotearoa's South Island, where she lives with her family.
