Description
The onion basket is a hand-woven, open-weave vessel designed for storing lemons, onions or root vegetables in the kitchen or pantry. With its flat base design it's perfect for placing on your kitchen bench or shelves.
Each basket is individually hand-woven by Jasmine Clark. Due to the free-hand nature of her craft, no two will be the same and the shape and size may vary slightly. 100% Rattancore natural fibers, dyed a deep chestnut brown with natural dyes.
This basket is lovely paired with the Small or Large Hanging Garlic Basket, to bring warmth and texture into your home.

Jasmine Clark grew up in Karekare, on Auckland’s wild West Coast, where a connection to nature and making began early. While studying 3D design at Unitec, she took a night class in flax weaving—an experience that sparked her evolving practice in contemporary basketry.
Now based in Arrowtown, Jasmine creates handwoven works from her home studio and gallery. Using natural and found materials like bull kelp, harakeke, wire, and rattan, she explores sculptural form, shadow, and texture. Each piece reflects her deep respect for traditional techniques and the landscapes that inspire her. At Handcrafted Modern, we offer Jasmine’s delicate woven copper sculptures and functional garlic and onion baskets—quiet, grounded pieces made with care and intention.
