Description
A Matt-white glazed hand-potted ovoid footed vase, created using a new white-firing clay formula, with three concentric bands to the top, produced between 1948-1956 by Ernest Shufflebotham for Crown Lynn Potteries Ltd.
The hand-throwing technique often involved two people working on a potters wheel, making these vases distinct from the more mass produced cast forms.
These vases are now highly sought after by collectors, this bears the Crown Lynn three star tiki stamp at the base and is incised number 5 at the base which denotes its shape.
a lovely example of this collectible edition, in excellent condition for its age.
