Description
The Zarucolander by designer Rio Kobayashi is a sculptural take on a daily essential. Crafted from steam-bent walnut, its slatted form opens and folds with a simple twist of red and black ball screws.
Multi-functional, it can be used as a colander for washing fruits and vegetables, a basket for picking, or a decorative vessel.
Each piece is handmade using traditional steam-bending techniques, giving the wood its gentle curve and natural resilience.
Designed for both utility and artistry, the Zarucolander celebrates craftsmanship and attention to material.

Celebrating the enduring beauty of wood through contemporary artisanship.
Founded in 2015 by designer Laure Amoros, OROS is a French design studio devoted to exploring the many lives of wood. Rooted in a deep respect for material and place, the label brings together artisans, designers, and makers who share a commitment to conscious creation.
Influenced by her family’s tradition of woodworking and ceramics, Amoros was drawn to the craft behind handmade objects. This early appreciation for craft and resourcefulness continues to shape the OROS philosophy: design that honours both material integrity and local making.
Working with diverse wood species and time-honoured techniques such as turning, bending, and carving, OROS creates objects that balance function and form. Each piece reflects the studio’s attention to sustainability, tactility, and the natural character of wood.
