Description
This traditional Fijian Tanoa bowl is carved from a single piece of wood, primarily used for preparing and serving yaqona (kava) during formal gatherings and important occasions.
A symbol of unity, hospitality, and social connections. In many Pacific Island cultures, the act of sharing kava from a communal bowl is seen as a way to strengthen bonds and foster a sense of community.
Raised on four sturdy legs, its elegant round form reflects both its functionality and symbolism in communal rituals.
Beautifully patinaed with age, this Tanoa bowl has a copper wire repairs on the rim, which does not detract from its form or integrity.
