Description
Takada brushware brings you handcrafted tools made individually by skilled artisans in Wakayama, Japan since 1948. Merging utility and artistry, each piece is made using carefully selected materials that ensure durability and aim to honour a rich tradition of craftsmanship.
A beautiful object to hang and use in your home, the Harimi Dustpan is made using ancient traditions of craftsmanship and simplicity. This extremely lightweight but eminently functional dustpan is made of folded, glued, stapled, and riveted layers of Japanese paper stiffened with a bamboo reinforced rim.
Sealed and hardened with a dark finish, providing some water resistance as well as granting the dustpan a smooth low-static surface allowing dust to slide easily into the bin. Pair this with the Takada Japanese Cypress Broom for a beautiful combination in your home.

Brushware Crafted by Hand Since 1948.
Takada Tawashi has been handcrafting brushes in Wakayama, Japan, since 1948, using fibres from the native windmill palm. Each brush is made by skilled artisans who carefully select and shape the natural materials to ensure durability, functionality, and quiet beauty.
Once a vital part of the local economy, windmill palm forests are now dwindling. Takada is committed to preserving this time-honoured craft—not just the tools, but the knowledge and cultural heritage behind them. At Handcrafted Modern, we offer their range of natural palm fibre brushes for the kitchen and home: simple, sustainable essentials, made to last.
