CERES is a series of hand-built stoneware incense burners developed between Aotearoa, New Zealand and Lund, Sweden.
CERES began in 2024 as an ongoing collaboration between Yamila Palatnik and Pilo Marimón, two Argentine makers working across distance, time zones and shared rhythms of making. The forms developed through sketches and exchange, evolving through dialogue, testing and refinement before being built by hand in stoneware in Lund.
Yamila leads the design and art direction from Auckland, while Pilo fabricates the ceramic pieces in Sweden. Rather than standardisation, the process allows variation to remain visible, with differences in surface and proportion held from piece to piece.
Each form has a figurative presence and invites different readings, without being fixed to a single meaning. Hand-built, stamped and numbered as part of a short edition, each piece is fully functional and intended for use.
process CERES

Each piece begins through sketches and exchange across Auckland and Lund, developed through ongoing dialogue before being built in clay.

Hand-built in stoneware in Sweden, the forms are shaped through testing and refinement, with variation in surface and proportion remaining visible.

Stamped and numbered as part of a short edition, each piece reflects an early material stage of the project and remains fully functional for use.
