Autumn Sonata is the vision of Lilli Elias, a textile archivist and production consultant who bridges the past and present through her deep fascination with antique prints and textiles. Based between Europe and the United States, Lilli draws on her extensive experience traveling to mills worldwide to honour traditional craft methods while innovating for today’s needs.
Founded in 2022, Autumn Sonata is a meeting point between archival discovery and contemporary design, creating organic towelling and table linens that echo history yet are made for modern living. Each piece carries a narrative—reflecting craft traditions, longevity, and an enduring appreciation for quality and storytelling. Lilli Elias founded Autumn Sonata in 2022. With a background in archival practice, she draws from her abiding passion for antique prints to develop the brand’s collections of modern home furnishings. Elias began her career as an archival intern at fashion brand The Row before embarking on building her own antique textile collection. She has a degree in Music History from New York University and a Masters in Archival Studies from Universiteit van Amsterdam.
Autumn Sonata is a design atelier bringing a new lens to archival, historic, and storied objects. Further inspirations include travels to antique markets, decorative arts and film history—particularly Ingmar Bergman, for whom the brand was named.
Antique jacquard tapestry weave samples. Working as archivists and designers, we travel to uncover heirlooms hidden across bygone European estates, buried within dusty bookshelves, tucked into forgotten corners and re-contextualize them anew in imaginative, elegant forms.
